Australian Situation Nowadays

Statistic show that Aborigines people today. It’s only about 10% of Aborigin young people completed high school. This is very different when we compared it with other Australian people. The level of unemployment is also very high, it’s up to 35% compared with 9% for other communities. Australian Government has also given some money to help Aborigines communities. However, the Aborigines problem haven’t solve yet. The Budget is taken from taxpayers’ Australian society.

UNITED NATION, has give the reports that the Aboriginals still on the outer limits of modern Australian life. There are many of them who live in a very poor place, without any clean water and sewerage. It also can be so dangerous for their society, such as the emergence of disease. For example: Hepatitis B, typhoid and diabetes. This reports into the spotlight in the world, because the representatives of Australian often actively against the problem of oppression and Human rights in other countries. In fact, they still can’t solve the Aboriginal issues.

The statistics show young generations of Aboriginal education levels are low, it effects the level of unemployment that four times higher than the national level. This resulted the crimes rates became higher. In Australian prisons, we would feel weird, because most crimes are Aborigines. Whereas, their populations just about 1% of Australian population. Most of those arrested for drunken alcohol. Even more surprising is that most of them chosen to commit suicide, either which has been arrested or who had just tried.

There are many that Australian government should do to resolve this issue. Social problem is the most important, a reduction on the level of alcoholism will give effect to solve the criminal action. Anyway, this is not going to be easy, because they have to directly deal with problems such as resentment, sadness, and anger this native.

Then, Aboriginal communities also should change their ways of live to be more modern, because they can’t live like before the semi-nomadic and form a communal society. However, there are some things that they can take care, such as their culture, kinship networks, and ways of thinking. All of these are called identity of ‘BLACK’.

This problem is getting worse, because there are Aboriginals who demand independence from Australia, but it is extremely difficult. Due to the number of Aboriginal education is very few who is able to understand the mechanism of a government. The point is they can’t live like their ancestors way of life. The have lost the ability to survive in the Australian nature like this.

The United Nation believes that one way to solve this problem is to give a voice to the Aborigines, it is giving the special seats in parliament (federal) Australian. Certainly the one who is sitting in this chair must be approved by the Aboriginals themselves.
